Analytics – Bubble Chart

FacilityBot Analytics empowers facility teams to explore operational data through interactive, customizable visualizations—similar to tools like Power BI, but seamlessly integrated into FacilityBot. Among its advanced visualization options is the Bubble Chart, a dynamic chart type that displays three dimensions of data simultaneously using the x-axis, y-axis, and bubble size (and optionally color).

Bubble Charts are ideal for uncovering patterns, correlations, and outliers within complex datasets. For example, facility managers can visualize maintenance costs (Y-axis) versus response time (X-axis), while bubble size represents the number of requests, and bubble color represents priority level. This provides a powerful multi-variable perspective that goes beyond simple trend or comparison charts.

Configuring a Bubble Chart

To create a Bubble Chart in Analytics:

  • Log in to the FacilityBot Manager Portal.
  • Navigate to Analytics → Charts, then click the + Chart icon.

For this walkthrough, we’ll create a Bubble Chart that shows the average pending time on the X-axis, average process time on the Y-axis, and bubble size representing the number of maintenance requests per building.

  • Choose your dataset. For this example, select Requests.
  • Click the Bubble Chart icon, then select Create new chart to start configuration.

Setting Up Chart Dimensions and Metrics

  • Under entity, choose location tag ID. Click Save.
  • Under X-Axis, go to simple tab, under column, select pending time in minute and under aggregate, select average. Click Save.
  • Under Y-Axis, go to simple tab, under column, select processing time in minute and under aggregate, select average. Click Save.
  • Under Bubble Size, choose count (total number of requests). Click Save.
  • Click Create Chart to preview your configuration.
  • If everything looks correct, click Save.
  • Give your chart a descriptive name, such as “Requests Pending vs Processing Time by Building”, and assign it to a dashboard for visibility. Click Save again to finalize.

Displaying the Bubble Chart on a Dashboard

To add your Bubble Chart to a dashboard:

  • Go to Dashboards, then click +Dashboard.
  • Drag your newly created Bubble Chart into the layout.
  • Resize or reposition as needed for clarity and balance.
  • Rename the dashboard (e.g., “Maintenance Efficiency Overview”) and click Save.
  • By default, dashboards are saved as drafts. Click the Draft icon to publish.

Bubble Charts in FacilityBot Analytics allow facility managers to visualize three or more variables at once—revealing deeper insights that standard charts may overlook. They help identify inefficiencies, performance gaps, and correlations between variables such as cost, response time, and volume.

By combining visual clarity with rich data layers, Bubble Charts enable smarter, data-driven decisions for optimizing operations, prioritizing maintenance, and improving service outcomes.
