Meters – Warning for Erroneous Readings

FacilityBot allows users to set warning thresholds for detecting erroneous meter readings based on standard deviation. This feature helps prevent inaccurate data entry by alerting users when a reading falls outside the expected range.

How It Works

When a user manually enters a meter reading, FacilityBot calculates the average and standard deviation of the last 10 reading changes. If the new reading exceeds the set threshold, a warning message appears, prompting the user to review the entry before confirming.

Enabling Warning Thresholds

To enable this feature,

  • Log in to the FacilityBot Web Portal.
  • Go to “Features”“Meters.”
  • Find the meter you want to configure, hover over it, and click the edit (pen) icon.
  • Under New Reading Error Warnings, set the standard deviation threshold for triggering a warning. Click Complete to save your settings.

Testing the Feature

To test if the warning system works:

  • Navigate to “Features” → “Meters.”
  • Hover over the meter and click the meter icon to enter a new reading.
  • Input an erroneous reading and click Submit.
  • If the reading exceeds the threshold, a warning prompt will appear, asking you to double-check. You can choose to accept or cancel the reading.

By enabling this feature, users can ensure more accurate meter readings and reduce errors in data entry.
