Introduction
FacilityBot Schedules now support Generic Tasks—standalone tasks that are not tied to Requests or Checklists. This allows teams to plan, assign, and manage operational work directly from the Schedules page. Generic Tasks can be created, edited, scheduled, and reassigned with simple drag-and-drop actions, providing greater flexibility for day-to-day operations on both web and mobile apps.
Creating a New Generic Task
To create a Generic Task in FacilityBot:
- Log in to the FacilityBot Web Portal.
- Navigate to Features, Schedules and open the Tasks tab.
- Click + New Task.
- Fill in all required (*) fields, such as Task Name.
- Click Submit to create the task.
Editing a Generic Task
After creating a task, you can update its details:
- Locate the task card in the Tasks tab. Click Edit on the task.
- Select or update the Customer account and modify the Task Name or other details. Click Submit to save changes.
Scheduling and Assigning Tasks
To assign a task to a responder and schedule it:
- Drag the task card from the Tasks list into the schedule area.
- When the confirmation dialog appears, click OK.
- The Assigned To field automatically updates to show the selected responder account.
Tasks can be reassigned at any time by dragging and dropping the task card into a different responder column. The assignment updates instantly.
Generic Tasks in Schedules give teams a simple way to manage non-request work alongside regular schedules. With easy creation, drag-and-drop scheduling, responder reassignment, and clear task controls, this feature improves planning flexibility and operational visibility across FacilityBot—on web and mobile.
