Overview
FacilityBot Studio is an AI-powered app and dashboard builder built into FacilityBot. It enables custom applications and dashboards to be easily created simply by describing their requirements in natural language, without engineering support or manual dashboard configuration.
From “Here’s what we need…” to “Here’s the dashboard.” ⚡Just describe what you need. FacilityBot Studio builds it.
In this case study, FacilityBot Studio was used to build two Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring dashboards for the facilities management provider for Nanyang Technological University (NTU). One dashboard monitors the South Spine, while the other monitors the North Spine, providing real-time visibility into a large deployment of IoT sensors.
The Requirement
The Facilities Management Provider required dashboards that displayed live sensor readings, rather than only recording when a sensor was triggered. With nearly 100 People Counter and Ammonia sensors deployed across NTU’s South Spine and North Spine, the operations team needed a centralized view of sensor data to monitor conditions, identify trends, and quickly detect abnormalities.
How It Was Built with FacilityBot Studio
Using FacilityBot Studio, the dashboards were created simply by describing the desired outcome in natural language. Instead of manually configuring charts, filters, or layouts, Studio interpreted the prompt and generated a dashboard tailored to the monitoring requirements.
Here is the initial prompt used
“Create IoT monitoring dashboards. Display live People Counter and Ammonia sensor readings with summary cards, time-series charts, and filters for building, sensor type, and location. Show the latest sensor values, historical trends, and overall sensor status in a clean, easy-to-monitor dashboard.”
From here, we engaged the client to iterate and refine the dashboard based on their detailed requirements (e.g. layouts, filters, colours etc).
The Result
FacilityBot Studio generated dashboards that provide the facilities management provider with a custom, centralized, real-time view of People Counter and Ammonia sensor data across both NTU campuses. Instead of accessing individual sensor feeds, the operations team can monitor current readings, analyze historical trends, and quickly identify changes from a single dashboard.
AI Studio enables rapid custom app development within FacilityBot, including quick iterations and refinements.
