In this case study, FacilityBot Studio was used to enhance an existing IoT sensor dashboard for the facilities management provider operating at a school in Singapore. The dashboard tracks sensor activity across the site, including data from PIR motion sensors. The Facilities Manager needed a simpler way to view sensor activity by month, so a monthly filter was added to the existing dashboard.
The Requirement
The Facilities Manager’s team already had a FacilityBot Studio dashboard for monitoring IoT sensor activity at a school. However, the dashboard did not have a monthly filter, making it difficult for the team to review sensor activity for a specific month or track how activity changed over time.
They needed a simple way to select a month and have the dashboard automatically update its metrics and visualizations to reflect the selected period.
How It Was Built with FacilityBot Studio
Using FacilityBot Studio, the existing dashboard was updated simply by describing the required change in natural language. Instead of manually reconfiguring the dashboard or modifying individual charts, Studio was instructed to add a monthly filter while preserving the existing dashboard structure and visualizations.
Here is the prompt used:
“Update the existing school IoT sensor dashboard by adding a month filter. Allow users to select a specific month and automatically update all charts and metrics to display sensor activity for the selected period. Ensure the filter applies across the entire dashboard while preserving the current layout and existing visualizations.”
The existing dashboard was then refined to incorporate the new filter without changing the overall layout or functionality of the dashboard.
The Result
FacilityBot Studio added a monthly filter to the school’s IoT Sensor Dashboard, allowing the Facilities Manager’s team to select a specific month and instantly view the corresponding sensor activity across the dashboard.
With the new filter, the team can review sensor activity for different months more easily, making it simpler to identify trends, review historical activity, and monitor sensor performance without exporting or compiling the data separately.
