Overview
FacilityBot Studio is an AI-powered app and dashboard builder built into FacilityBot. It enables custom applications and dashboards to be easily created simply by describing their requirements in natural language, without engineering support or manual dashboard configuration.
From “Here’s what we need…” to “Here’s the dashboard.” ⚡Just describe what you need. FacilityBot Studio builds it.
In this case study, FacilityBot Studio was used to turn Permit-to-Work (PTW) requests at a Business Park in Singapore into a report-ready table. The team overseeing the site needed to see an expanded set of permit details in one place and export them as a CSV to compile into their own reports, without waiting on a custom engineering build.
The Requirement
The team managing Permit-to-Work requests at the Business Park needed the existing PTW table to be enhanced with additional fields pulled from the permit form itself, along with a way to export that data from the system.
Specifically, they asked for a table covering a running number, tower, location/unit, company, the date the applicant link was first sent, PTW number, submission date, start and end validity dates, total duration in days, the date of final approval, the applicant’s email address, whether supporting documents had been submitted, and a remarks field, plus a button to export the entire table to CSV.
Until this was built, putting that level of detail into a report meant pulling records and cross-referencing them by hand, permit by permit.
How It Was Built with FacilityBot Studio
Once the request was scoped, FacilityBot Studio was switched on for the Business Park and the enhanced table was built by describing the exact fields needed in a single instruction.
Here is an example of a prompt used:
“Build an enhanced Permit-to-Work table with columns for S/No, Tower, Location/Unit, Company, Link Sent Date, PTW Number, Submission Date, Start Date, End Date, Duration, Approval Date, Applicant Email, Document Submission (Yes/No), and Remarks. Add a button to export the table to CSV.”
After the first version went live, the team flagged that the table had grown wide enough that some columns required horizontal scrolling to reach. Studio was used again, the same way, to refine the layout by describing the fix rather than rebuilding the table from scratch.
The Result
The Permit-to-Work page at the Business Park now shows the full set of fields the team requested in one table, with a CSV export button so the data can be pulled directly into their reports. What previously required manually compiling permit details can now be done with a single export.
FacilityBot Studio took this from a feature request to a working, in-production dashboard without a dedicated engineering build. It also allowed the team to refine the result themselves once real usage revealed a layout issue.
